Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Acupuncture Treatment

We also specialise in Acupuncture treatments at Comfort Podiatry in Newport.

Western medical acupuncture is the use of acupuncture following a medical diagnosis. It involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles.

This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins. It’s likely that these naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects experienced with acupuncture.

  • Pain relief
  • Relief of tight tissue- muscle, fascia, ligament or tendon
  • Increase in circulation
  • Improved relaxation
  • Improvement in patient’s well being

About Me

My name is Yulia, and I am a qualified podiatrist/chiropodist and sports therapist. Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the management of foot, ankle and lower limb conditions, from general skin and nail treatments to musculoskeletal injuries, in which we specialise.

Having an existing background in sports therapy, I decided to study at Cardiff Metropolitan University where I achieved a BSc (Hons) degree in podiatry. I am also qualified to administer local anaesthetic and I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which requires me to follow regimented standards, providing evidence-based treatments to ensure the safety of my patients.

I feel that due to my experience in sports therapy, my strengths lie in treating musculoskeletal problems of the foot, ankle and lower limb.

My knowledge and understanding of the human body’s functioning and what may interrupt this functioning, such as injury, trauma or other health problems; enable me to assess joints, muscles, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels by choosing the most suitable treatment. This understanding enables me to offer the highest level of care for patients of all ages.
